ANÁLISIS ECONÓMICO-FINANCIERO DEL EMPRENDIMIENTO EN EL SECTOR TURÍSTICO: UN ESTUDIO POR GÉNERO

Este trabajo analiza, desde la óptica de género, las diferencias existentes en el emprendimiento en el sector turístico. Para ello, se utilizan variables económicas y financieras representativas de características de la empresa creada y del emprendedor, lo que permite una visión holística del fenómeno analizado. Los datos utilizados recogen un amplio período temporal desde el 2001 al 2013 y reflejan la realidad económica de 37 países clasificados, de acuerdo con el Foro Económico Mundial, como orientados hacia la innovación. La metodología se fundamenta en la utilización de test estadísticos para determinar si las diferencias presentan significatividad, para, posteriormente, a través de un método deductivo y analizando conjuntamente los datos observados, extraer conclusiones sobre las posibles causas explicativas. El análisis de los resultados obtenidos señala que las diferencias observadas entre hombres y mujeres en las iniciativas empresariales podrían ser explicadas por diferencias en el nivel de ingresos del emprendedor, abriendo una nueva línea de investigación.
